Balsam Fir

December is dedicated to Balsam Fir essential oil—the exclusive Young Living Therapeutic Grade™ essential oil harvested yearly by Gary Young in northern Idaho.

The natural plant constituents in balsam fir have historically been used to for a variety of things, from supporting respiratory function to easing muscular and joint discomfort. To use balsam fir for respiratory support, simply inhale straight from the bottle or include a few drops in a Young Living diffuser—the fresh pine scent very grounding and relaxing. Balsam fir can also be beneficial as part of a therapeutic massage.

So much to be Thankful for

Those of us that are with Young Living whether for a short while or for a long time are so ever grateful for what we have, know, and learn and will continue to learn. Young Living not only produces the best oils in the world but we learn how to use them. I personally have seen many great things happen as a result of using them I like to say they are little miracles in a bottle.

Ocotea is one of the newest oils be have, very high in Alpha humulene which is a compound that aid the body's natural response to irritation and injury. It helps with all kinds of issues, contact me for more information. It had properties that help with blood sugar and fungus and even inflammation of all kinds. A great addition to your collection of essential oils.

Young Living Convention a complete Success

Young Living Convention was just a few weeks away and it was excellent as always. Gary Young came out on stage in a canoe dressed like Indian Jones. He said he felt great because he didn't have to have a suit on. He stayed dressed like for the rest of the morning but that afternoon and the rest of convention he did wear a suit.

The Ningxia Red bar was quite active with usually about 30 to 40 people gathered around the bar and the bar staff would get up on the bar and dance for us.

Here is the best part we are getting some amazing new oils from Ecuador. One we have been waiting for, for three years and that is called Ocotea. This oil is so amazing I will try to give it justice here. It is from the cinnamon family but it is a softer cinnamon in that it isn't caustic and harsh. They are using it to lower blood sugar and regulate spikes in sugar levels in people. It also kills Candida and parasites.
So it would be good for people and animals. It also has two constituents in it that have the highest amounts of anti inflammatory properties. It actually tastes good too. Oh and the best part is the side effect of using this oil is weight loss. Now who do you know could use that?

Here is what Young Living is saying about this oil"

Primary Benefits
+ Traditionally used as a disinfectant and for digestive support.†
+ Highest levels of alpha-humulene in any known essential oil, which helps balance the body’s internal response to irritation.*
+ Far less skin sensitivity than cinnamon bark or cassia.

Ten Essential Oils You'll want ot Diffuse and Why

Ten Essential Oils You’ll Want To Diffuse
And Why!
Aromatherapy means “to treat with aroma through inhalation.” Although there are other applications for Aromatherapy, if you would like to be proactive about your health and wellness, and particularly the state of your emotions, then diffusing essential oils is the most practical and effective way to enjoy their benefits!

Why inhale essential oils in the first place? Because essential oils affect the brain and the brain affects the rest of us! Essential oils, naturally, have the ability to help us by bringing about a feeling of calmness or alertness. They can stimulate appetite or a feeling of being full. They can help us feel romantic, grounded, and empowered. They bring back memories and help release trauma. In short, essential oils affect the way we feel and the way we feel affects everything!

In fact, essential oils are being studied for their effects on stress, blood pressure and cortisol levels, among many other things! See the results of one published study here!

Below is a list of 10 pleasant-smelling essential oils to diffuse and enjoy!

Cassia
This essential oil is antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal, making it a wonderful oil to have in your breathing space when people are coughing all around you. And it smells a little like Christmas Candy!

How to use Essential Oils

There are three main ways to use Essential Oils:

Direct Application
Because Essential oils are soluble with the lipid membranes of cells, they have an unmatched ability to penetrate and disperse within minutes throughout the body. Apply directly over area of concern, but, avoid getting oils in the eyes, flush with V6 mixing oil if an essential oil accidentally gets in the eyes. The spicy oils such as Cinnamon, Clove, Thyme, Oregano and Peppermint can be warming to sensitive skin. Dilute your Essential oils with V6 mixing oil or a pure Olive oil if skin sensitivity is a concern.

Diffusing or Inhalation
A Diffuser is specially designed to disperse a fine mist of essential oils that will fill a room in a few minutes. It disperses your oils without heating or burning, which can render oils less therapeutically beneficial. Diffusing can help reduce bacteria, fungus and mold, help with weight management, help you to relax and relieve tension, improve concentration and mental clarity and much more!

Internally as Supplements
Only a Therapeutic, Grade A oil, such as Young Living's oils, are safe enough to ingest. By ingesting the oils, optimum benefits can be achieved. Put a drop or two in goats, soy or rice milk, or in empty capsules and take internally. It is indicated on each bottle if the oil can be taken internally as well as by application.

Copaiba essential oil

Beta-caryophyllene is recognized as the primary chemical in marijuana that gives ease to patients and makes it an effective medication for many.

beta caryophyllene

http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2008/06/proof-that-mari/
Some Proof that Marijuana is a Powerful Medicine
Marijuana contains an amazing chemical, beta-caryophyllene, and scientists have thoroughly proven that it could be used to treat pain, inflammation, atherosclerosis, and osteoporosis.
Jürg Gertsch, of ETH Zürich, and his collaborators from three other universities learned that the natural molecule can activate a protein called cannabinoid receptor type 2. When that biological button is pushed, it soothes the immune system, increases bone mass, and blocks pain signals — without causing euphoria or interfering with the central nervous system.

However, our Copaiba oil won’t make you high, could this be Young Living’s answer to the medical marijuana debate?

This can be a huge advantage when experiencing discomfort at work, for instance. And it can be reapplied as often as necessary. In addition, Copaiba can be taken internally, as noted on the label for supplementation. This can be a valuable oil for discomfort from digestive issues (nausea), stomach aches, and inflammation in the digestive tract.

Copaiba is the highest in beta-caryophyllene which is an anti-inflammatory compound. A 1996 study showed beta-caryophyllene to be effective in treating stress-induced ulcers. Beta-caryophyllene is also found in helichrysum at between 8 and 12%, while copaiba contains 55% beta-caryophyllene. Clove oil contains 6-8% beta-caryophyllene in comparison. [excerpt from informational call on Copaiba with Marc Schreuder on July 7, 2009]

Below are comments from Toby Palmer, Young Living's product manager:

Young Living Copaiba Essential Oil
Copaiba is an incredible essential oil that continues the tradition of South American essential oils being offered by Young Living.
Want to know the highlights of this potent essential oil? Deep in the heart of the Brazilian rain forest, the copaiba tree is harvested by “tapping” the heartwood similar to how rubber and maple are tapped. The resin is collected and then steam distilled, a process that delicately extracts the pure essential oil.
Copaiba has traditionally been used in native teas to aid in soothing digestive discomforts. It also has helped regulate people’s natural immune response.* It’s no wonder why copaiba is so effective. Copaiba essential oil contains the highest amounts of beta caryophyllene: 55 percent. This is the highest of any known essential oil!
You’ll be hard-pressed to find real copaiba essential oil anywhere in the United States. It’s true, other companies sell copaiba “oil” that contains the entire resin or is a distilled form of the leaf. Unfortunately these products don’t contain the high amounts of beta caryophyllene that is in the Young Living Therapeutic Grade™ copaiba essential oil.
You probably have already tried copaiba in the Deep Relief™ and Breath Again™ Roll-On blends. If you look on the ingredient labels of these products, you’ll see copaiba listed.
Let me know what you think of copaiba essential oil!

The Young Living Standard

Therapeutic Grade: The Young Living Standard

There is a significant difference between essential oils that simply smell good and those that are Young Living Therapeutic Grade™ (YLTG).

Independent laboratory testing proves that YLTG essential oils meet and often exceed industry requirements, and as stewards of nature’s plant remedies, Young Living maintains higher internal standards, built upon the magnitude of our own rigorous quality assurance requirements. This standard is known as Young Living Therapeutic Grade.

In order to achieve YLTG classification, each essential oil must achieve the designation naturally, without excess manipulation and refinement, and meet specific criteria in four key areas:
Plants, Preparation, Purity, and Potency.

Plants Young Living products are produced from the right plants, grown in exceptional soil, and harvested at exactly the right time.

Preparation Honoring a strict commitment to respect and protect the time-honored methods of distillation, Young Living makes every effort to preserve “nature’s living energy” in a manner as close to its natural state as possible. Using pure mountain water free of additives, Young Living has a proprietary, stainless steel distillation process that uses low temperature and low pressure to better preserve plant properties, capture the pure essence of the plant, and preserve the quality of the oils.

Purity Achieved through the use of quality plants and meticulous preparation, and not through ultra-refinement, our finished product is100% pure. Young Living essential oils are unadulterated, uncut, and free of chemicals, pesticides, and heavy metals.

Potency To guarantee our products exceed existing world standards and meet our own higher internal standards for potency, we analyze the finished oil’s phytochemical profile to ensure it delivers optimal amounts of every key plant compound.

You need to know that there are huge chemical companies on the east coast that specialize in creating synthetic chemicals that mimic every common essential oil.

For every kilogram of pure essential oils there is an estimated 10 and 100 kilograms of synthetic oil created.

A Rash Statement~^~by Julie Chertow, YL Gold Distributor, Oregon
I feel that it is important and worthy to address the issue of rashes with essential oils since this comes up quite often.
Any time a rash appears after using oils, especially in the beginning, it is from a detox happening.
How many years has someone used petrochemicals in all their personal care products, household cleaning products? What kind of water do they shower and bathe in? Do they soak in a jacuzzi or swim in a pool with chlorine? What is their diet? Do they eat non organic food sprayed with lots and lots of chemicals? what about the air they breathe in their town or city they live in? What about drinking out of plastic water bottles?
What about the over-the-counter drugs and pharmaceutical drugs people have taken for years? What about the years of vaccines people have had? What about herbs people may take that may possibly be sprayed with chemicals.
What about walking barefoot on chemically treated carpet? Those chemicals go right into the body through the bottom of the feet. All these chemicals go in through the skin and into the brain. They release toxic gases and lodge into the brain receptors. They lodge on to the nerve endings. We have millions of receptor sites along the spine (nerve endings). They lodge into the organs, the blood, the lymphatic system, into the tissue.
Then here we come with using our precious oils on our friends, families & clients. Guess what? Our oils digest petrochemicals.(Thank God) Guess what? Our skin is the largest organ. Guess what? We detoxify through our skin. Guess what? People tend to blame the last thing they used...our oils.
And, have any of you ever been around Gary Young and heard the hundreds of times people have come up to him complaining that they started to use the oils and they got a rash. Gary's response across the board every single time I have heard him address this is "CONGRATULATIONS you are detoxing!"
What I share with people is what I mentioned above and I say I would rather see little bumps (the rash) coming out then one big lump (a tumor)
Unfortunately most people do not take responsibility and have the consciousness about the myriad of chemicals they ingest and absorb into their bodies on a daily basis for weeks, months and years. Petrochemicals and other toxins accumulate through all the years of your life. They do not all come out because we go to the bathroom. The body can handle it for a while but then it says NO MORE! and disease begins, all kinds.
So we Young Living distributors have a big purpose, a big job to help humanity to understand and educate them (and ourselves) at the absolute dangers of exposing ourselves to petrochemicals in all the products we use daily. Then to support them in switching their products to Young Living because we have not an ounce of chemicals in our products. To support people in cleansing. And then educating people on integrating the oils into their daily life.
Support your people in getting alkalined, using Alaklime, using Multi Greens, daily drinking Ningxia Red, eating and juicing lots of fresh organic greens, putting lemon oil or lemon juice in their water.
People everywhere are getting sick and their health is failing and they don't know why. It is our mission to help them understand the environmental sources of their problems and to educate them in the solutions, which we have as Young Living distributors.

Tid Bits from Ecuador

In May of 2009 I decided I just had to go to Ecuador for a conference on natural health and wellness. My decision was based on the fact that as soon as I heard that Young Living was able to purchase land to grow plants for distilling of essential oils, that one day I would make there.

Then I heard that two people I had met in Salt Lake City Utah at the convention were also going. That is all I needed to get going and get my place on the trip.

I learned so much and had such a great time I am ready to go again next year. Right now Young Living is distilling some of the best oils we have ever had. Some are oils that they grow and distill in other areas, some are completely new. Oregano is one example. Oregano is a very powerful oil and is used in our Rain drop Technique, but can be a oil that is considered hot. Meaning people with sensitive skin will need it to be mixed with massage oil so as not to irritate the skin. However, with the Oregano being prepared in Ecuador is is a much softer oil, less irritating yet more powerful than Oregano grown elsewhere.
